The First Stage of the Africa

        Mural

'The Kimberley Mine'

           Pinewood School Year 9

        'Africa'

          Middleton School

A group of children from Middleton and Pinewood schools in Ware are presently working on a Mural in two parts for the Bishops Stortford Museum.

The mural will go on display on the first floor landing of the museum in March 2008.

The first part of the mural is being created by children from Middleton School. This part of the mural is about African landscapes and the animals which live there.

The second part of the mural is being created by year 9 pupils from Pinewood School. This part of the mural shows the history of the Kimberly diamond mines and 19th century settlers.

The Mural has been designed and developed by the children of the two schools with the help of their teachers, and will become permanent display in the museum.

This new African Mural will be a fabulous contrast to the Bishop's Stortford Town Mural.

Students from Middleton School visit the Bishop's Stortford Museum to get some ideas for the mural
