Phoenix Theatre School: Musical Theatre

1st January 2014 - 18th December 2018

5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Phoenix Musical Theatre classes are predominantly about singing technique and we therefore recommend that ALL students attend drama lessons at Phoenix in addition to their Musical Theatre class. Students will learn songs from the West End and Broadway musical theatre repertoire as well as more contemporary rock and pop numbers. Although most of the class involves group singing, students are encouraged to take on solo lines and numbers in order to build their confidence and feel able to sing on their own. Once learnt, songs are staged and performed in various styles.

In order to succeed in this industry, not only do young people need to develop the necessary skills but they also need opportunities to use those skills and express themselves via performance. We offer more performance opportunities than any other school in the region; whether it is our annual drama showcase or our annual musical theatre showcase; and the full scale musicals and pantomimes that are produced by Phoenix Theatre Arts, the production wing of the company. A great archive of pictures from past events can be found on our Facebook page.

Visit our website for details on classes and how to register.
