The Bishop’s Stortford Museum has a team of fantastic volunteers who play an integral role in supporting the museum.
We are looking to expand our team with four new volunteer roles, so if you would like to get involved and join our friendly team, please get in touch by emailing museum@rhodesbishopsstortford.org.uk for more information.

 

Volunteers for Children’s Craft Activities

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is looking for volunteers to support with our Children’s Craft Workshops throughout the year.  Working alongside the Museum Curator and team you will come up with ideas, prep and run craft workshops for children aged between 3-8 and their families.

This is a great opportunity for an artist looking to gain more experience in facilitating workshops or someone with an interest in working with young children and families.

The majority of the workshops will take place during the school holidays and workshops run from 11am to 3pm at the Rhodes Arts Complex, Bishop’s Stortford.

Guided Tour Volunteers

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is looking for volunteers to run guided tours of the museum.  Working alongside the Museum Curator, you will need to learn about the museum, how it works and the objects in it.  This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in local history and who enjoys meeting the public.

The majority of guided tours take place on the first Saturday of every month from 11am at the Rhodes Arts Complex, Bishop’s Stortford.

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is looking for volunteers to run guided walks of the local area for the public.  Working alongside the Museum Curator, you will need to learn about your designated walk and be confident in speaking to the public.  This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in local history and who enjoys meeting new people.

The majority of guided walks take place on Saturday’s and meet at the Rhodes Arts Complex, Bishop’s Stortford.

Volunteer to research and deliver Museum talks

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is looking for volunteers to research and deliver museum talks for the public.  Working alongside the Museum Curator, you will need to help research and write your talk on a decided topic and then deliver it to the public.  This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in local history and who enjoys meeting new people.

The majority of talks take place at Rhodes Arts Complex but some talks are delivered off site, so the ability to travel is an advantage.  Talks also may be daytime of evening by negotiation.
