The Bishop's Stortford Museum has been given funding to re-design the museum's Netteswell garden. We would like you to be involved - if you are interested in helping us with this project click here for volunteering information.
We are developing the land's usage by redesigning the site to include wildlife habitats for birds, bats, and insects. This will be complimented by sensory and wild flower planting.
Raised Beds will allow wheel chair users and people with mobility impairments including the elderly to be closer to the plants. Chipping and mulching will give extra textures and invertebrates will be encouraged by the construction of a loggery and habitiat pile. Wood slices will be used for easily accessible "mini beast explorer areas.
New hedging whips and tranplants will start the establishment of a hedgerow. Native wild flora will be used for planting, along with shrubs to attract wildlife, particularly butterflies. Nesting boxes for bats, birds, lacewings and ladybirds together with still motion operated cameras and small live feed cameras to monitor and observe wildlife.
