If you can't visit the museum you can always borrow one of our handling boxes.

Each box covers a different curriculum subject and contains some real and some reblica artefacts, copies of documents from the museums collection, photographs and a teachers pack.

We charge a small fee of £10 per box, or £15 for a large box (plus VAT), with a £40 returnable deposit. Boxes an be borrowed for a fortnight at a time. Longer loans may be available on request.

Trade and Industry in Bishop's Stortford

Students will look at the trades and industries of Bishop's Stortford using archive material (maps, census records, trade directories and photographs) and objects from the Museum's collection to study how the town changed and the impact of new technologies.
